Lisa Mears
Lisa's interest in composing began while a student at Malvern Girls' College where she held a Music Scholarship for studies in Violin, Piano and Voice. Lisa subsequently gained a Music degree from Bristol University before going on to specialise in Composition at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, gaining an M.Mus degree in 2005.

While a student, Lisa's music was performed by solo instrumentalists and singers and groups including the BBC NOW, RWCMD Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Choir and PM Ensemble. A concert of Lisa's choral music was held in Swansea given by Cantoris Llandeilo with organist Huw Tregelles Williams and conducted by Christopher Waring Davies.

Since 2003, Lisa has worked as accompanist to Christopher Waring Davies, a renowned Tenor, and together they have performed Lisa's Spanish Song Cycle at concerts and recitals at venues including the Wales Millennium Centre. Both Christopher and Lisa were guest artists of the Victoria Welsh Male Voice Choir from Melbourne, Australia on their South Wales tour.

In 2005, Lisa was selected to represent Welsh composers at a BBC televised debate at the Wales Millennium Centre and in 2006, Lisa's composition 'Mosaic Counterpoint', for mixed chamber ensemble, was the winning entry in the BSO Kokoro Ensemble Composition Competition and was performed at The Lighthouse Arts Centre in Poole, Dorset. Further commissions and performances followed by soloists and groups including the youth choir, Ariosa Singers and their soloists, St. Teilo's Church, Bishopston, Swansea, Philip Heyman, lead viola of WNO orchestra, soprano Sylvia Strand and violinist Christopher Horner. Lisa's music has also been broadcast on BBC Radio Devon.

2010 has seen Lisa record a disc of some of her piano music entitled 'Music for Meditation'. Future discs of mixed repertoire and songs with Christopher Waring Davies are planned for later in 2010/2011. Current and future projects include works for saxophone, string quartet, vocal quartet and a Requiem Mass for Amici Chamber Choir Wales.

In addition to composing and performing, Lisa works as a Lecturer in Music and Accompanist at Gorseinon College Swansea and is an Assistant Organist at St. Teilo's Church, Bishopston, Swansea.
